Portland, Oregon

Just a few photos from my weekend in Portland. I rolled through this city last summer on my road trip, but I didn’t appreciate its charms until now.

1: Chana Masala from the PSU Farmer’s Market, the largest and most awesome farmer’s market I’ve ever seen
2: A sweet, playful name for a store
3: Scene from Back Alley restaurant, which has me longing for my own outdoor area
4: Sunset down a Portland street
5: Pears hanging on the tree in my friends’ backyard
6: Flight home, racing away from the sun

  1. lovely shots. I live so close to portland and get to go so little over there. Planning on a special date weekend with the hubby this summer, and portland might just do the trick =)

  2. I am going to Portland for the first time later this summer. My friend sells her things at Noun. That is the most clever tagline. So glad you had a good time.

  3. Love, love, LOVE the name of that shop!

Emailing you now. Looking forward to catching up when I get home from my lake trip. Have I mentioned how over the moon I am about spending a week in a cabin by a beautiful lake in HOT, sunny weather?

    xoxo

  4. Ugh, these make me miss Portland so bad. I use to drive by that Portland graffiti daily. And that store Noun… so great. Did you get a cupcake? That alleyway outside seating is so fun and DANG IT! I miss it so very badly.

  5. Portland is such a wonderful, beautiful little city. I’ve visited a few times in the past, but like you, never had the chance to really appreciate until only recently. I love the food, and how energetic and vibrant the people there are. Can’t wait to come back and try out some of the places you visited!

    Cheers.

  6. Since I grew up in the Willamette Valley, I always looked askance at Portland, taking all our hype, being the only thing people talked about. But in my old age (ha!) I’ve embraced it for the lovely city it is. It is a lot like Nashville, albeit minus the southern drawls!

  7. Thank you for spelling out that this was the Portland in Oregon. It is the presumed Portland, but still, there’s another one in Maine.
